  • Active Learning - "Active learning is an term that refers to several models of instruction that focus the responsibility of learning on learners." (Wikipedia)
  • ASG - Ayers Saint Gross, the firm contracted to help the University develop the Classroom Master Plan
  • Authentic learning - "In education, authentic learning is an instructional approach that allows students to explore, discuss, and meaningfully construct concepts and relationships in contexts that involve real-world problems and projects that are relevant to the learner." (Wikipedia)
  • Blended learning - "Blended learning is a formal education program in which a student learns at least in part through online delivery of content and instruction with some element of student control over time, place, path or pace." (Wikipedia)
  • COCIC - The Classroom Oversight, Coordination, and Implementation Committee (classroom committee). This committee has been responsible for classroom renovations subsequent to the development of the 2004 and 2015 Classroom Master Plans. This committee continues their work, renovating classrooms in the future and implementing the recommendations of the current planning process.
  • Collaborative learning - "Collaborative learning is a situation in which two or more people learn or attempt to learn something together." (Wikipedia)
  • Community of inquiry - "The community of inquiry is broadly defined as any group of individuals involved in a process of empirical or conceptual inquiry into problematic situations." (Wikipedia)
  • Dugdale - Shirley Dugdale, engaged by Ayers Saint Gross to lead the workshops and many of the focus groups that will provide input to the Classroom Master Plan.
  • Ellenzweig - The firm contracted to help develop the University's 2004 Classroom Master Plan.
  • Problem-based learning - "Problem-based learning (PBL) is a student-centered pedagogy in which students learn about a subject through the experience of problem solving." (Wikipedia)
  • Sextant Group - A classroom technology consulting firm engaged by Ayers Saint Gross to help develop a plan for classroom technology in the coming decade.
  • SoTL, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning - "SOTL is scholarly inquiry into student learning which advances the practice of teaching by making research findings public." (Wikipedia)
